Electrica Secures Grid Connection Approvals for 17 BESS Projects

Romanian utility Electrica has obtained grid connection approvals for 17 battery energy storage system (BESS) projects with a combined storage capacity of approximately 700MWh. The approvals allow the projects to move into the design, permitting and construction stages, with all installations targeted for commissioning by the end of 2027.

Recently, the bid winner announcement for the Shandong Expressway Zhichong Energy Investment Co., Ltd. heavy-duty truck charging design and construction general contracting project was released. The first bid winner is a consortium composed of Shandong Provincial Communications Planning and Design Institute Group Co., Ltd., Shandong Expressway Dejian Construction Technology Co., Ltd., and Shandong Aobang Transportation Facilities Engineering Co., Ltd., with a bid price of 258,280,350.81 yuan. The second bid winner is PowerChina Shandong Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd., with a bid price of 259,579,301.67 yuan. The third bid winner is a consortium composed of CEG Wuda Energy Construction Investment (Hubei) Co., Ltd. and Shandong Taidong Transportation Energy Construction Co., Ltd., with a bid price of 258,152,979.05 yuan.
