[SMM Flash]Blue Lagoon Targets 1Moz Resource Growth at Canada’s Dome Mountain Mine as Production Ramps Up
Blue Lagoon Resources announced that its Dome Mountain gold-silver mine in British Columbia, Canada, has achieved commercial production and is ramping up throughput from over 100 tonnes per day toward a target rate of 150 tonnes per day. The company expects to produce approximately 15,000 oz of gold over the next 12 months, with annual output potentially increasing to 20,000 oz thereafter. Dome Mountain is a quartz-carbonate vein-hosted gold-silver deposit that also contains lead, zinc and copper credits within its concentrate. Blue Lagoon stated that its next major focus will be exploration, with drilling programs scheduled to resume later this year. The company aims to expand the Boulder vein resource through infill, strike-extension and deep drilling, targeting a long-term resource inventory of 1 million ounces of gold. Current resources at the Boulder vein stand at approximately 234,000 oz of gold, while mineralization remains open along strike and at depth, providing significant resource growth potential.

Namibia’s Rosh Pinah Zinc Mine Commissions New SAG Mill, Doubling Throughput as Expansion Nears Completion
Appian Capital Advisory, which holds a 90% stake in Namibia’s Rosh Pinah zinc-lead mine, announced the successful commissioning of a new SAG (semi-autogenous grinding) mill, marking the completion of the final major processing component of the RP2.0 expansion project. The new SAG mill replaces the existing ball mill and is expected to double the mine’s processing throughput from approximately 700,000 tonnes of ore per year to 1.4 million tonnes annually following ramp-up. The upgraded facility will also improve the plant’s ability to process harder ore types as mining advances deeper underground. With the SAG mill now operational, the entire RP2.0 circuit—including the new zinc flotation circuit, paste fill plant, water treatment facility, and expanded thickening and filtration systems—has been fully integrated. Appian stated that overall project construction progress has exceeded 95%, and the expansion is expected to extend mine life, improve resource utilization, and support higher zinc concentrate output in the coming years.

[SMM Flash] APAC Mining Equipment Hiring Surges 30% YoY, Signaling Base and Critical Metals Expansion
The latest workforce indicators reveal a substantial 30% year-over-year surge in active job postings related to mining equipment across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. Functioning as a critical leading indicator for capital expenditure and structural expansion, this sharp increase signals that mining companies in the region are actively initiating new projects, expanding current capacities, or aggressively pursuing fleet modernizations. The spike in demand for machine operators, engineers, and maintenance technicians underscores a widespread regional commitment to boosting production throughput for base metals, precious metals, and critical minerals vital to global supply chains. Analysts note that this accelerated hiring trend will inevitably translate into growing backlogs for heavy equipment manufacturers and components suppliers moving forward.
