[SMM Flash News] Indonesian Labor Union Says Government to Announce RKAB Quota Policy June 30 Amid Mining Layoff Fears

Published: Jun 30, 2026 11:15
Indonesia's KSPSI labor confederation said President Andi Gani Nena Wea expects the government to announce a 2026 RKAB (work plan and budget) quota policy at parliament on Tuesday, June 30, aimed at addressing potential layoffs tied to mining quota cuts. Andi said some companies saw quotas slashed by 70-80% this year, with 18,000 KSPSI members at the IWIP industrial park alone at risk of layoffs. The RKAB revision submission window closes July 31, though the total volume of supplementary approvals remains unknown since ESDM will assess each mine's application on a case-by-case basis.
