India's JSW Steel announced a $500 million investment to modernize its US facilities in Mingo Junction, Ohio, and Baytown, Texas. The plan includes a $165 million capex over three years for a vacuum tank degasser and an advanced slab caster, enabling the production of 12-inch steel slabs and eliminating reliance on imports from Brazil.
