[Multiple Domestic High-Speed Optical Communication Chips Enter Mass Production; Domestic Optical Fiber Capacity Booked Through 2027]

Since the beginning of this year, the wave of AI computing power has swept the globe. If AI large models are compared to the most powerful brains, then optical communication serves as the “high-speed blood vessels” that deliver massive amounts of data to them. Over the past year, multiple high-speed optical communication chip products designed for supercomputing centers have completed process verification and gradually entered mass production and delivery, continuously filling the supply gap of high-end optical chips for localisation. As the core medium of information transmission, optical fiber is the key infrastructure connecting computing power and data. Since the beginning of this year, the optical fiber product sales of an enterprise in Wujiang, Suzhou, have increased by over 35% YoY. The rapidly growing demand for new-type optical fiber products from data centers has kept the enterprise’s products in continuous undersupply. “Orders are nearly full every month. We will focus on selecting major clients and make good plans for future capacity. Currently, capacity planning has already extended into Q1 2027.” (Jinshi Data APP)

According to Counterpoint Research's China Smartphone Weekly Sales Tracker, China's weekly smartphone sales have maintained a double-digit YoY decline since July. Affected by rising storage costs, consumer demand remains weak, but with the arrival of the September new product launch cycle, the market is expected to see a MoM recovery. Sales of the iPhone 18 Pro series in its first three days of availability (accounting for only three days of Week 38) were up 12% YoY compared with the first-week sales of the iPhone 17 Pro series. Driven by this strong start, Apple topped the weekly sales chart in Week 38, capturing a 33% share of China's smartphone market.
