SMM, June 11:
This week, China’s graphitisation tolling service prices remained stable, though expectations for a price hike persisted. Demand side, integrated anode enterprises faced an undersupply of their own graphitisation capacity, driving a steady rise in outsourced orders. Cost and supply side, processing costs remained high, graphitisation tolling service plants experienced chronic thin margins, production shutdowns and furnace reductions were widespread, and effective market supply was tight. Supported by strong demand, tight supply, and high cost, the industry saw a strong atmosphere for price hikes. However, following a slight adjustment early in the month, processing fees overall remained stable this week. Looking ahead, the industry held an optimistic outlook for end-use demand. Downstream, to lock in processing capacity and ensure stable supply, the mentality to push for lower prices gradually weakened. Consequently, graphitisation tolling service processing fees are expected to rise steadily.
