【SMM Aluminum Flash News】Guinean Bauxite Prices Rise Amid Cost Pressures and Potential Quota Policy

According to an SMM survey, Guinean bauxite prices rose this week, with current market quotations and deals adjusted up to $70-71/mt. Coupled with cost pressure from high and volatile oil prices and the news that Guinea’s quota policy may be implemented in June, Guinean bauxite shipments in June are expected to decline, and the market generally holds a bullish view on imported bauxite prices. The SMM Imported Bauxite CIF Index was quoted at $68.15/mt today, up $0.45/mt from last Friday.
