Jiangsu Gov't Approves Environmental Impact Report for LFP Battery Recycling Project

Published: May 29, 2026 19:30
The Huai'an Municipal People's Government in Jiangsu Province released a notice regarding the environmental impact report of a Jiangsu company’s project on high-value comprehensive recycling of waste LFP batteries and scraps to produce 10,000 tons of battery-grade lithium carbonate annually. Currently, the project is set to construct one dismantling and crushing line for retired LFP battery cells, one dismantling and crushing line for scrap LFP battery cells and LFP cathode sheets, and one hydrometallurgical lithium extraction line for black mass. The project demonstrates a closed-loop approach to LFP battery resource recovery.
