Tianjin Zinc Ingot Premium Slightly Increased [SMM Tianjin Spot Zinc Weekly Review]

[Tianjin Zinc Ingot Premiums Edged Up]: Spot premiums in the Tianjin area rose this week, edging up 5 yuan/mt WoW. As of this Friday, domestic regular brands were quoted at a discount of 50-80 yuan/mt against the 2606 contract, premium brands at a discount of 0-30 yuan/mt against the 2606 contract, and Tianjin at a discount of around 90 yuan/mt against Shanghai.

SMM May 29: Spot premiums in Tianjin rose this week, edging up 5 yuan/mt WoW. As of this Friday, ordinary brands were at a discount of 50-80 yuan/mt against the 2606 contract, premium brands were at a discount of 0-30 yuan/mt against the 2606 contract, and Tianjin was at a discount of approximately 90 yuan/mt against Shanghai. Zinc prices continued to fluctuate at highs this week, with downstream consumption being mediocre, orders being weak, and procurement mainly driven by rigid restocking demand. Tianjin inventory remained relatively high, and traders' shipment premiums held largely stable. Spot premiums are expected to edge up slightly next week due to contract rollover.

Outside China, the escalating Middle East conflict pushed up oil prices, the US dollar weakened, and nonferrous metals rebounded across the board. Fundamentals side, LME inventory remains low in absolute terms, the 0-3 backwardation structure holds above $130/mt, spot supply outside China is tight, and LME zinc is showing relative strength.
