Global Mining to Invest RMB 680M in Vanadium-Titanium Plant in Xinjiang, Aiming for 9M TPA Production

Published: May 29, 2026 14:47
[SMM Titanium Express] Global Mining, a subsidiary of Shaanxi Baoji Yucai Glass Group, plans to invest RMB 680 million to build a 9 million tpa vanadium-titanium magnetite processing plant in Artux, Xinjiang. Upon completion, it will produce 300,000 tpa of titanium concentrate and 600,000 tpa of iron concentrate. The expansion is based on an existing 200,000 tpa Phase I and is currently under environmental impact assessment public comment.

Jintian Titanium to Raise $30M for Phase II of Advanced Titanium Alloy Project
【SMM Titanium Flash】On September 14th, Jintian Titanium Industry disclosed a private placement plan, intending to raise no more than 300 million yuan to invest in the construction of an advanced titanium alloy industrialization project for high-end equipment (Phase II). The project will add a 10,000-tonne ultra-large rapid forging unit to enhance the forging capacity of large-sized bars and extra-heavy wide forgings. The company's main products include titanium and titanium alloy bars, forgings, and components. It has already delivered batches of titanium alloy high-pressure gas cylinders to units under China Shipbuilding. The main structure of the Phase I project has been completed, and equipment joint debugging and testing have been completed. After commissioning, it will increase the annual production capacity of titanium alloy bars by 2,800 tonnes and forgings by 200 tonnes. With the implementation of the Phase II project, the company's supply capacity of high-end titanium materials for aerospace and marine equipment is expected to further enhance.

Titanium dioxide market hits bottom and stabilizes, expectations of stopping falling and recovering heat up [SMM Titanium Spot Express]
[SMM Titanium Spot Express: Titanium Dioxide Market Bottoms Out and Stabilizes, Expectations of a Stop in Decline and Recovery Heat Up] The titanium dioxide market has bottomed out and stabilized, with prices holding flat. The industry's goal of stopping the decline has been largely achieved, and there are expectations of upward probing in the short term. However, whether a genuine rise can materialize still depends on the sustainability of orders. The market is expected to consolidate.

Skyrora Completes 6 Hot-Firing Tests of 3.5kN Engine, Showcasing Titanium-Coated 3D Printing Advancements
【SMM Titanium Flash】 According to ADS Advance, the British aerospace company Skyrora has completed six hot-firing tests of its 3.5kN low-orbit engine, and X-ray inspections before and after the tests confirmed no damage. Some components of the engine were manufactured using a self-developed hybrid DED 3D printer, which achieved a weight reduction of approximately 44% by depositing a titanium coating instead of a nickel-based alloy. This move verifies the structural reliability of titanium-coated components in real thermal cycles and demonstrates that additive manufacturing is driving the reconstruction of the form and dosage structure of titanium materials for aerospace applications. Commercial aerospace is expected to become one of the fastest-growing scenarios for titanium demand.
