[Solar: RWE commissions 273.6MW Emily Solar project in Illinois]

Published: May 19, 2026 17:35
RWE has commissioned the 273.6MW Emily Solar project in Illinois, lifting its operating energy capacity in the state to 1GW. The project created around 400 jobs during peak construction and is expected to generate about USD 30 million in property tax revenue over its lifetime. SMM believes utility-scale solar projects are increasingly supporting both regional power demand growth and local economic benefits in the US.
