According to Zhitong Finance, on May 9, statistics from the China Association of the Shipbuilding Industry showed that from January to March 2026, China's shipbuilding completion volume reached 15.68 million DWT, up 46.0% YoY, accounting for 57.3% of the global total; new orders reached 59.53 million DWT, up 195.2% YoY, accounting for 84.9% of the global total; as of month-end in March, ship orders on hand reached 322.3 million DWT, up 43.6% YoY, accounting for 69.8% of the global total. China's three major shipbuilding indicators all grew, with international market share maintaining a global lead.
