Huitian Thermal Power Surges, State Grid Launches $2.9B UHV Project in Zhejiang

The power sector saw renewed activity, with Huitian Thermal Power hitting the daily limit, followed by Datang Power, Huayin Electric Power, Fuling Power, and Star Power. On the news front, Huitian Thermal Power released its Q1 2026 report, with net profit attributable to the parent company reaching 49.3113 million yuan, up 233.25% YoY. In addition, State Grid Corporation of China broke ground on the Zhejiang 1,000 kV UHV AC ring network project. With a total investment of 29.3 billion yuan, it is China's largest single-project and highest-investment UHV AC transmission project.
