Published: Apr 23, 2026 14:53
This week (4.17–4.23), solid-state battery industrialization accelerated sharply. GreatPower struck two strategic deals and advanced a 2.8-billion-yuan project; PingAn and Jinghe Energy put all-solid-state pilot lines into operation with energy density over 400Wh/kg. Sinocera Materials launched an automated sulphide electrolyte line, while Gotion signed the world’s first 20,000-ton solid-state key material project. CATL also unveiled its Kirin condensed-state battery.

Key points: This week (4.17-4.23), the industrialisation process of solid-state batteries accelerated significantly. Greatpower Technology signed two strategic cooperation agreements and advanced a 2.8 billion yuan project; PingAn New Energy and Jinghe Energy each completed all-solid-state pilot lines, with battery cell energy density exceeding 400Wh/kg. On the material side, Sinocera Materials completed an automated sulphide electrolyte production line, and Gotion Holdings signed the world's first 20,000 mt solid-state key material project. CATL released the Kirin condensed-state battery.

The solid-state battery sector continued to heat up this week, from strategic layouts of top-tier enterprises to industrialisation breakthroughs in key materials, the industry is accelerating its transition from the laboratory to the production line. The following summarises this week's key developments from three dimensions: strategic cooperation, materials and equipment, and technology routes.

Materials: This week (4.17-4.23), solid-state battery material prices showed clear divergence. Affected by lithium prices, third-generation LFP, 811 ternary cathode material, and lithium metal prices rose. However, core raw materials for the sulphide route collectively plunged — lithium sulphide dropped sharply by 70 yuan/kg to 1,780 yuan, LPSC sulphide electrolyte fell 290 yuan to 9,220 yuan/kg, with even lower prices at the mt-level in the market. P₂S₅ declined 1.2 yuan/kg to 68.8 yuan due to falling raw material costs, and oxide route LATP and LLZO prices also edged down slightly.

Sulphide electrolyte once deterred industrialisation due to high prices. Now, with raw material prices easing, combined with the completion of Sinocera Materials' production line and Gotion Holdings' 20,000 mt project signing, it appears that the once "prohibitively expensive" sulphide route is accelerating into the affordable fast lane. "Material freedom" for solid-state batteries may arrive sooner than expected.
