【SMM Steel】Global steel scrap collection is expected to reach 873 Mt by 2050, up 36% from 2020 despite a JISF downward revision. Developing countries' scrap generation rises to 370 Mt. China and developed economies fall to 311 Mt and 193 Mt. The supply center will shift to developing nations. EAF plants will continue to consume >85% of these resources as mature markets slow.

MMi Daily Iron Ore Report (April 22)

Iron ore futures showed a slight upward trend today. The main contract I2609 closed at 786.5 RMB/ton, up 0.32% from the previous trading day. Spot prices also rose by 1-3 RMB/ton. Traders quoted actively, while steel mills restocked as needed. Overall spot transaction sentiment was relatively stable.
