APT CIF Rotterdam Rises to $3,185/mtu Amid Strong Demand and Tight Supply; European Scrap Prices Decline

Peru’s Central Reserve Bank reported molybdenum export value of $187 million in August 2026, down 3.6% from the revised July figure but up 32.6% year on year. January–August export value reached $1.371 billion, up 23.6% year on year. The series measures FOB export value rather than physical volume or mine production.

Trekor Metals reported Q3 2026 molybdenum production of 380,000 lb (about 172 tonnes) at its wholly owned Gibraltar mine, down 32.0% QoQ from 559,000 lb and 31.9% YoY from 558,000 lb. Based on company data, SMM calculates nine-month output at 1.656 million lb (about 751 tonnes), up approximately 54.2% YoY, supported by strong Q1 production. Copper output increased 12% QoQ, highlighting diverging by-product performance. The company did not separately explain the molybdenum decline.

Oct 8 (SMM) — A Chongyi-based tungsten producer released its latest ex-works long-term contract prices: 55% wolframite concentrate at RMB 365,000 per standard tonne and 55% scheelite at RMB 364,000 per standard tonne, both down RMB 35,000 / s.t. from the second half of September; APT at RMB 550,000 per tonne, down RMB 30,000 / t over the same period. All figures are inclusive of 13% VAT.
