January Auto Sales Down 3.2% YoY, NEV Sales Stable at 40.3% Market Share

According to CAAM data, in January, automobile production and sales reached 2.45 million and 2.346 million units respectively. Production was up 0.01% YoY, while sales decreased by 3.2% YoY, down 25.7% and 28.3% MoM respectively. NEV production and sales reached 1.041 million and 945,000 units respectively, increasing by 2.5% and 0.1% YoY. NEV sales accounted for 40.3% of total new automobile sales. According to CAAM analysis, in January, the overall automobile industry operated steadily. The passenger vehicle market experienced some decline, while the commercial vehicle market continued its positive trend. The NEV market operated stably, and automobile exports maintained growth. China's Industrial Producer Prices Decline Slows in February 2026, MoM Growth Steady

[SMM Aluminum Flash] Data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showed that in February 2026, nationwide industrial producer ex-factory prices fell 0.9% YoY, with the decline narrowing by 0.5 percentage points from the previous month; they rose 0.4% MoM, with the increase unchanged from the previous month. Industrial producer purchase prices fell 0.7% YoY, with the decline narrowing by 0.7 percentage points from the previous month; they rose 0.7% MoM, with the increase widening by 0.2 percentage points from the previous month. On average in January–February, industrial producer ex-factory prices fell 1.2% from the same period a year earlier, and industrial producer purchase prices fell 1.1%.
