China's Bismuth Trioxide Exports Pulled Back in December [SMM Data]

Published: Feb 9, 2026 15:19

According to customs data, China's bismuth trioxide exports in December 2025 were 570.97 mt, while November exports were 720.17 mt, showing a significant MoM decrease compared to October. Market participants indicated that, based on the overall change in export volume, exports of domestic bismuth oxide showed a rising trend each month from September to November, with October and November exports returning to above 600 mt, basically reaching normal levels. Although December exports declined somewhat, they remained above 500 mt, indicating that bismuth oxide enterprises still maintained strong export momentum and overseas demand did not decrease significantly.

SMM reported on April 20 that according to market rumors, a major northern manufacturer's public bidding for the sale of dozens of tons of crude selenium, which had recently drawn market attention, ultimately ended in failed transactions, sources said. Market participants indicate that given the bidding results for selenium, it is understandable for buyers to adopt a wait-and-see stance temporarily after crude selenium prices rose too quickly and repeatedly hit new highs in the recent period.
