Thaco Group Expands Business to Mining and Metal Production

[SMM Aluminum Express News] Truong Hai Group Corporation (Thaco Group), a major Vietnamese conglomerate known for automotive and multi-sector operations, has updated its business registration to include mining and metal production activities. The expanded scope covers mining and processing of bauxite, extraction of other non-ferrous metal ores, production of precious and non-ferrous metals, plus forging, stamping, pressing, and rolling of metals. This move, reported January 28, 2026, aligns with Thaco's prior ambitions for large-scale bauxite projects in Vietnam's Central Highlands (e.g., Lam Dong province), where it has eyed multi-billion-dollar integrated complexes for mining, alumina, and aluminum production.
