[SMM Aluminum Express News] Kim Long Motor teams up with China's BYD to develop a US$130 million (~Rp2.1 trillion) EV battery production facility in central Vietnam. The initial 4.4-hectare plant will produce 3 GWh/year of batteries for commercial electric vehicles, with BYD providing technical support and technology transfer. Phase 2 expands the site to 10 hectares, doubling capacity to 6 GWh/year and adding batteries for passenger EVs, enabling Kim Long Motor to enter the non-commercial EV market. This collaboration aims to strengthen Vietnam's EV battery supply chain.
