In its latest report released today, Counterpoint Research stated that the non-GPU server AI chip—the AI ASIC segment—will experience rapid growth in the near term, with shipments projected to triple by 2027 compared to 2024 levels, and is expected to surpass GPU shipments in 2028, reaching over 15 million units.
