It is understood that the Daqing 268 was jointly developed, built, and operated by Sinopec CNOOC Fuel Supply and Shenzhen Fengyang Shipping. With an overall length of 109.9 meters, a deadweight tonnage of 7,500 mt, and a total tank capacity of 10,362 m³, its core power system achieved 100% localisation, allowing flexible switching between green methanol and traditional fuel driving modes. The vessel's maiden voyage and inaugural operation marked a breakthrough from scratch for green bunkering barges in the Greater Bay Area.
The green methanol used in this bunkering operation originated from the mass production project of CIMC Green Energy in Zhanjiang. Using agricultural and forestry waste such as tree bark and straw as raw materials, it passed International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC-EU) and carbon traceability detection, achieving a greenhouse gas reduction rate of over 85% throughout its life cycle. This breakthrough not only established a green fuel supply loop of "production-storage and transportation-barge-bunkering" in the Greater Bay Area but also provided a Chinese solution for the global shipping industry's green transformation. In the future, Sinopec CNOOC Fuel Supply will continue to deepen its efforts in the field of new energy for ships, accelerate the improvement of the green bunkering network, and contribute to building China into a strong maritime nation.
