AI Drives Smart Manufacturing to Autonomy: 2025 Progress Unveiled

The State Council Information Office held a press conference to introduce the achievements in industrial and information technology development in 2025. Xie Cun, Director of the Information and Communication Development Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, stated that artificial intelligence (AI) has now penetrated over 70% of business scenarios in leading smart factories, accumulated more than 6,000 vertical domain models, driven the large-scale application of over 1,700 key intelligent manufacturing equipment and industrial software, and fostered a number of industrial intelligent agents with perception, decision-making, and execution capabilities, advancing smart manufacturing from automation toward autonomy.
