[Domestic Iron Ore Brief: Iron Ore Concentrate Prices in Tangshan May Rise Slightly] Today, domestic iron ore concentrate prices in Tangshan rose slightly by 5 yuan, with the delivery-to-factory price, tax included, for 66% grade iron ore concentrates (dry basis) at 985-990 yuan/mt; approaching year-end, some mines and beneficiation plants are shipping appropriately due to cash flow considerations, but others remain watchful and unwilling to ship below their expectations.

Today, the price of domestically produced iron ore concentrates in the Tangshan region rose slightly by 5 yuan/mt. The delivery-to-factory price, tax included, for dry-basis 66-grade iron ore concentrates stands at 985-990 yuan/mt. As the year-end approaches, some mines and beneficiation plants are releasing appropriate amounts of ore for capital turnover purposes, while others remain on the sidelines, unwilling to sell below their psychological price expectations. On the demand side, steel mills continue to purchase as needed; however, the recent narrowing of the price spread between domestic and imported ore has slightly enhanced the cost-effectiveness of domestic iron ore concentrates, leading to an improvement in overall market transactions compared to the previous period. Additionally, with imported ore prices still expected to rise in the near term, this is likely to drive the domestic iron ore market, and it is anticipated that local iron ore concentrate prices will continue to have potential for increase next week. Silicon Metal Price Center Remained in the Doldrums [SMM Silicon Industry Weekly Review]
[Silicon Metal Price Center Remained in the Doldrums]: This week, the silicon metal market stayed weak, with the transaction center for some silicon metal grades edging lower. As of April 2, SMM east China prices were oxygen-blown #553 silicon at 9,000-9,200 yuan/mt, down 100 yuan/mt WoW; 441# silicon at 9,300-9,400 yuan/mt, down 50 yuan/mt WoW; and 3303# silicon at 10,100-10,300 yuan/mt, down 100 yuan/mt WoW. In the futures market, the most-traded silicon metal contract remained weak, with the SI2605 contract closing at 8,300 yuan/mt on Thursday, down 435 yuan/mt WoW. Spot declines were narrower than futures prices, and the advantage in supplier shipments shifted from silicon enterprises to trading firms engaging in both spot and futures market. During the week, market prices were under pressure, while procurement volume from some downstream users and export traders increased, with transactions in some grades remaining moderate.
