Minago Secures Exclusive Rights to Low-Carbon Magnesium Tech in Canada

[SMM Magnesium Express] Minago Development GP has secured exclusive Canadian rights to Big Blue Technologies' advanced magnesium extraction process. The aluminothermic reduction technology claims to reduce carbon emissions by up to 98% compared to conventional methods, with potential for carbon negativity via future carbon capture. Minago plans to apply it to dolomite overlying its nickel/PGM deposit in Manitoba, enabling magnesium production without additional mining. The move aims to re-establish a primary magnesium supply chain in North America, which currently has no production and relies on China for over 90% of global supply.
