【SMM Steel】Hoa Phat Partners with Danieli for New Long Steel Plant in Vietnam

【SMM Steel】Vietnam's Hoa Phat Group has selected Danieli to install a new long-product rolling mill and a four-strand continuous caster in Dong Nai Province. The facility is equipped with a direct charging system that transfers billets directly from the caster to induction heaters, eliminating the need for traditional reheating furnaces. This configuration is designed to lower operational costs and reduce the environmental footprint of the manufacturing process. The plant is expected to achieve an annual capacity of 700,000 tons, focusing on the production of 10-32mm rebar and 5.5-8mm wire rod coils. Scheduled for commissioning in the first quarter of 2027, this project marks the ninth Danieli rolling mill for the group. By utilizing hot charging technology, the site aims to maintain stable production conditions while optimizing energy consumption across its localized operations.
