According to Miningnews.net, Asara Resources, a gold exploration company in Guinea, announced drilling results from its Kada gold mine and will deploy a second drill rig.
Key results from infill and step-out drilling include:
◎ 14 meters at a gold grade of 1 gram per mt;
◎ 75 meters at a gold grade of 0.9 gram per mt.
The first phase of 16,000 meters of drilling is nearing completion, and the second phase began last month.
Currently, the Kada gold mine has an ore resource of 30.3 million mt at a gold grade of 1 gram per mt, equivalent to a gold content of 923,000 ounces, most of which is shallow oxidized transitional zone gold ore.
The company also holds a copper-lead-zinc-silver project named Paguanta in northern Chile, but it is seeking to divest this project to focus on the Kada gold mine.
