According to Bloomberg News, PT Vale Indonesia has suspended nickel mining operations due to a delay in government approval for its annual work plan (RKAB) in 2026. However, management expects the permit shortly and maintains that this temporary halt will not impact the joint venture’s long-term operational sustainability. From SMM's conversation with PTVI, it only affects temporarily for the nickel mine in Pomalaa and Bahodopi for the approval. Meanwhile, operations at the existing major Sorowako Mine, as well as the integrated RKEF facilities, continue to run normally. Therefore, it remains relatively minimal impact towards the market supply and demand.
