Recycling Industry Events This Week (December. 29-31)

This week's recycling industry events.

[Fujian Waste Battery Material Recycling Project Launched] Recently, a new energy battery material recycling project invested in and constructed by a company in Fujian Province has achieved a critical milestone. According to a notice released by the Ningde Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau on December 29, 2025, the environmental impact report for the project has entered the stage of intended approval. Upon completion, the project will have an annual production capacity of 52,000 tons of new energy battery series materials. Products will include nickel-cobalt-manganese sulfate, cobalt tetroxide, manganese tetroxide, electrolytic nickel, and lithium carbonate, among others required for battery manufacturing.

[Ningxia 130,000-Ton Annual LMFP Material Project Signed and Launched] On December 26, a 130,000-ton annual lithium manganese iron phosphate (LMFP) cathode material project by a company from Jiangsu Province was signed and launched in the Yinchuan Economic and Technological Development Zone. The project has a total investment of approximately 4.8 billion yuan. After the completion of the first phase, involving an investment of 1 billion yuan for a 25,000-ton annual production line, the estimated annual output value is no less than 1 billion yuan. It is reported that the project's total planned capacity is 130,000 tons. Upon full operation, it will become the largest LMFP cathode material production base in Northwest China.

[Another 2,000-Ton Annual Silicon-Carbon Anode Material Project Signed and Launched] Yantan District held a centralized signing ceremony for key projects in the fourth quarter of 2025. A total of five projects were signed, with a combined investment of 4.832 billion yuan, covering critical fields such as new energy conductive materials, wet electronic chemicals, silicon-carbon anode materials, and high-performance composite materials. During the ceremony, Yantan District signed a cooperation agreement for the *Annual 2,000-Ton Silicon-Carbon Anode Material Project* with a company from Luoyang.

[Anhui 10,000-Ton Waste Lithium Battery Comprehensive Utilization Project Launched] Recently, the Bengbu Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau in Anhui Province released a pre-approval announcement for the environmental impact report of a waste lithium battery comprehensive utilization project by a company in Anhui. It is reported that the project involves an investment of 100 million yuan. The construction site is located in the Lingang Industrial Park of the Bengbu Economic and Technological Development Zone, Anhui. It will primarily engage in the recycling and echelon utilization of waste lithium batteries, constructing production lines for dismantling waste lithium battery packs and assembling PACKs, along with supporting raw material and finished product warehouses.

[Fujian Fluorochemical Project Officially Enters Trial Production] On December 25, a new-type environmentally friendly high-performance coolant project with a total investment of 500 million yuan by a company in Fujian officially entered trial production at the Shunchang Jinshan New Materials Industrial Park. The project relies on 10 independent invention patents and Corning Incorporated's (USA) microchannel reaction technology to achieve fully automated production throughout the process. The first phase can annually produce products such as hexafluoropropylene oligomers and perfluorohexanone.

[SMM Daily Review: Spot Lithium Carbonate Prices Continued to Decline on March 4] The SMM battery-grade lithium carbonate index price continued to fall from the previous working day. In terms of futures performance, the most-traded contract fluctuated within the range of 146,000–155,700 yuan/mt, while open interest in the most-traded contract decreased by about 600 lots from the previous trading day. In terms of actual transactions, upstream lithium chemical plants’ willingness to sell spot orders remained weak, with strong sentiment to hold back supply and hold prices firm. Morning prices fell rapidly to below 150,000 yuan/mt, boosting purchase willingness among downstream material plants. At present, most enterprises adopted a laddered order-placement strategy to buy on dips. Overall, market inquiries and transactions were relatively active.
