Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Chongqing-based Talent New Energy ("Talent New Energy") recently completed a B+ funding round exceeding 400 million yuan, according to a press release it issued on December 31.
The proceeds will be directed toward speeding up the commercialization of automotive-grade solid-state batteries, expanding investment in core technologies, advancing the company's first mass-production line for all-solid-state batteries, and strengthening its talent pipeline as it scales up operations.
The successful fundraising reflects the company's recent progress in turning solid-state battery research into manufacturable products. Talent New Energy has developed its "Safe+" solid-state battery platform based on an oxide–polymer composite pathway, supported by proprietary technologies such as ISFD. This approach has enabled the company to roll out a full portfolio of products for different use cases while improving overall performance metrics, particularly around safety and stability.
Talent New Energy's batteries have already passed validation tests conducted by leading downstream customers in large-scale markets such as new energy vehicles, two-wheelers, and energy storage, paving the way for volume deliveries. Beyond these established sectors, the company is also moving into emerging areas including the low-altitude economy and embodied intelligence, developing solid-state batteries that balance enhanced safety with high power output and high energy density. The first batches of battery packs designed specifically for robotics applications have been delivered to partners and are now undergoing real-world testing.
In 2025, projects involving Talent New Energy were selected for a national-level disruptive technology research program. The company has also formed strategic partnerships with listed firms such as Narada Power and HUITIAN New Material, working to build an integrated ecosystem that links core technologies, critical materials, advanced manufacturing, and real-world applications.
Looking ahead, the company plans to further refine its strategy of letting application scenarios define battery design. Building on the Safe+ framework, Talent New Energy aims to introduce a tiered safety product matrix tailored to the specific risk profiles and performance requirements of different use cases. Backed by the latest funding, the company intends to leverage industrial partnerships to accelerate the deployment of its Safe+ solutions across its core target markets.
