[SMM PV News] DGTR's anti-dumping duty plea on Chinese solar modules put on hold

Published: Dec 30, 2025 17:59
The Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) has suspended its proposal to impose anti-dumping duties of 0-30% on Chinese solar imports following a legal challenge by the Rajasthan Solar Association (RSA). The High Court issued an interim order stating that any duty notification remains invalid until a final verdict is reached. The proposal, which exempted Jinko and Trina but targeted major players like LONGi and Aiko, faced strong industry opposition. Stakeholders argue that domestic manufacturing is currently insufficient to meet 2030 targets, and that adding these duties on top of existing Basic Customs Duties would unnecessarily inflate project costs and delay deployment.
