Compañía de Minas Buenaventura announced that its San Gabriel gold project in Moquegua, Peru, has produced its first doré bar during commissioning, in line with the planned timeline. The company is completing remaining approvals to begin full-scale production and commercialization.
San Gabriel is expected to reach 2,000 tpd processing capacity in 2026, with gold output guided at 70,000–80,000 oz. The project will replace declining production from mature mines and support Buenaventura’s medium-term growth.
