The two sides aim to combine their respective strengths in industrial capabilities, technology, resource integration, and market networks, with cooperation structured around three core areas.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- CATL and Xiamen C&D Group recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement, committing to a broader and more integrated partnership, according to a press release CATL issued on December 26 via its WeChat account.

The two sides aim to combine their respective strengths in industrial capabilities, technology, resource integration, and market networks, with cooperation structured around three core areas.

In the new energy vehicle sector, the collaboration will be anchored by Shidai Smart Technology (Fujian) Co., Ltd. ("Shidai" is Chinese pinyin), a jointly invested platform. Through closer cooperation in battery lifecycle services, safety technologies, and innovative battery business models, the partners aim to deliver more comprehensive and application-ready solutions for the fast-growing new energy market.

On the supply chain front, CATL will open up selected supply chain projects to Xiamen C&D Group. Leveraging its experience in supply chain operations and global trade, C&D will support CATL's efforts to bring products, production capacity, and technologies to overseas markets, while also helping to modernize and optimize CATL's supply chain system.

In emerging industries, the partnership will extend to joint investments and the establishment of investment funds. By co-investing in advanced technologies and high-end manufacturing upgrades, the two groups aim to foster innovation ecosystems that create long-term value and shared growth.

Beyond their core industrial collaboration, CATL and Xiamen C&D Group also plan to expand cooperation into areas such as exhibition and convention operations, as well as tourism and hospitality, further broadening the scope of business synergy and brand development.

The agreement marks a new phase of deeper integration between CATL and Xiamen C&D Group. Looking ahead, the partners plan to link technology, industry, and services more tightly, supporting the integrated development of China's new energy sector and contributing to the broader transformation and upgrading of the real economy.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
