






In 2025, China's new energy vehicle (NEV) market is accelerating into a new phase shaped by rapid technological breakthroughs and a reshaping of competitive dynamics. From intelligent MPVs designed for family mobility to ultra-high-end flagships built around performance and luxury, Chinese automakers are rolling out a wave of high-profile new models across nearly every major segment.
Advanced driver assistance, extended range, and ultra-fast charging have emerged as common denominators, underscoring a broader contest not just over technology, but over user experience and perceived value. The following models stand out as some of the year's most representative launches, offering a clear snapshot of where the market is headed.
BYD Xia
BYD officially brought the Xia to market on January 8, introducing four variants priced between 249,800 yuan and 309,800 yuan. Positioned as a mid-to-large MPV under BYD's Dynasty lineup, the Xia expands the brand's portfolio into the premium family and business mobility segment, where comfort, intelligence and efficiency increasingly converge.
Visually, the Xia adopts an evolved interpretation of BYD's "LOONG FACE" design language, blending traditional Chinese landscape aesthetics with a distinctly modern form. Signature elements such as the sculpted "dragon whisker" detailing, sharp headlamp contours and layered lighting architecture give the vehicle a refined yet assertive presence. The overall styling strikes a careful balance between business formality and family-friendly elegance.
Inside, the Xia debuts the latest-generation Dynasty interior design. The cabin layout draws inspiration from the traditional Chinese courtyard concept of "four waters converging," symbolizing unity and prosperity. This philosophy is reflected in a symmetrical, enveloping layout that emphasizes spatial harmony and a premium atmosphere.
Powering the Xia is BYD's fifth-generation DM technology, offered in two battery-powered range versions rated at 100 km and 180 km. With a full tank and full charge, the vehicle delivers a combined range of up to 1,060 km, while NEDC fuel consumption in charge-depleting mode drops as low as 5.3 L/100 km. The model also features the DiSus-C intelligent damping body control system with predictive functions, alongside the DiPilot 100 advanced driver assistance system as standard across the lineup.
DENZA N9
DENZA put its N9 flagship SUV onto the market on March 21, 2025, initially offering two plug-in hybrid variants priced from 389,800 yuan to 449,800 yuan.
Later in the year, on September 17, the 2026 model of the DENZA N9 officially went on sale, expanding the lineup to three variants while maintaining the same price range. A newly added "Zunyue" trim, priced at 409,800 yuan, further broadens customer choice.
As a mid-cycle update, the 2026 DENZA N9 retains the same body dimensions and interior architecture as its predecessor, focusing instead on visual refinement. New exterior color schemes—including multi-tone finishes such as Greenhua Silver, Lanchen Silver, and Hongya Gold—add a more expressive and upscale character. Inside, a new Jinshan Brown interior option enhances the vehicle's executive and business-oriented appeal.
Measuring 5,258 mm in length with a 3,125 mm wheelbase, the DENZA N9 sits firmly in the full-size SUV category. Customers can choose between traditional side mirrors and digital streaming mirrors.
Under the hood, the plug-in hybrid system pairs a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with a high-output electric drivetrain delivering a combined motor output of 680 kW. The model offers over 200 km of battery-powered range under CLTC conditions and a total driving range of up to 1,300 km.
YANGWANG U7
On March 27, YANGWANG officially kicked off the sale of the U7, a large-sized premium NEV positioned at the pinnacle of BYD's high-end brand. The initial rollout includes four variants—BEV and PHEV configurations in both four-seat flagship and five-seat luxury forms—priced between 628,000 yuan and 708,000 yuan.
The U7 carries the DiSus -Z body control system combined with the e4 architecture. With total output exceeding 1,300 horsepower, the sedan accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds. Beyond outright performance, it introduces capabilities such as in-place turning, stable high-speed driving after tire blowouts, and lateral "crab-walk" parking. The vehicle also integrates electromagnetic suspension, predictive road scanning, intelligent rear-wheel steering up to 20 degrees, and LiDAR-based perception.
Available in both BEV and PHEV versions, the U7 features what the company describes as an "all-digital" chassis, with DiSus-Z and e4 technologies enabling fully electrified control of lateral, longitudinal and vertical vehicle dynamics. OTA upgrade capability further positions the chassis as a software-defined system rather than a static hardware solution.
Design-wise, the U7 follows the brand's "Time Gate" styling language, sharing visual cues with the YANGWANG U9. A fastback silhouette, hidden door handles, enclosed wheels and an active rear spoiler help achieve an ultra-low drag coefficient of just 0.195 Cd. With dimensions of 5,265 × 1,998 × 1,517 mm and a 3,160 mm wheelbase, the U7 sits squarely in the large luxury sedan segment.
Leapmotor B10
The Leapmotor B10 officially hit the market on April 10, introducing five variants priced between 99,800 yuan and 129,800 yuan. Built on the brand’s new LEAP 3.5 architecture, the B10 reflects Leapmotor's strategy of pushing advanced technology into more accessible price segments. Chassis tuning was jointly carried out by Leapmotor's in-house team and specialists from Stellantis-owned Maserati.
The exterior design adopts a contemporary global aesthetic, highlighted by a full-width headlight strip that visually broadens the front fascia and aligns with a matching lower bumper design. Notably, the B10 is equipped with LiDAR and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8650 chip, enabling high-level assisted driving functions for both highway and urban scenarios.
Offered exclusively as a battery-electric vehicle, the B10 comes with two motor options rated at 132 kW and 160 kW. All variants are fitted with a 56.2 kWh battery pack, delivering a CLTC-rated driving range of up to 510 km—an increasingly competitive figure in the compact and mid-size EV segment.
AITO M8
At a Huawei-backed Harmony lntelligent Mobility Alliance new product launch event in Shanghai on April 16, AITO officially brought the M8 model's REEV version to the market, with prices ranging from 359,800 yuan to 449,800 yuan. Positioned as a "smart flagship" for family users, the M8 integrates a wide array of Huawei technologies aimed at combining premium comfort with advanced intelligence.
The AITO M8 follows the brand's signature "Kunpeng" design language, using carefully balanced proportions, a long wheelbase and a tall body profile to create a confident, upright stance. The exterior presents a poised and expansive posture, while the interior adopts a dual wraparound layout with a refined, modern luxury aesthetic. Flowing lines extend seamlessly from the center console into the door panels, creating visual depth and a strong sense of cohesion throughout the cabin.
Lighting technology is another defining feature. The M8 is equipped with Huawei's intelligent vehicle communication lighting system, integrating HUAWEI XPIXEL interactive headlights with the ADS driving system. The setup enables adaptive lighting functions across both assisted and manual driving scenarios, including dynamic light carpets for lane changes, precise illumination on curves, narrow-road width recognition and autonomous beam adjustment.
The vehicle runs on HUAWEI ADS 3.3 advanced driver assistance, supported by a sensor suite of 30 high-precision units. This includes a roof-mounted 192-line LiDAR, rear-facing solid-state LiDAR and five 4D millimeter-wave radars, enabling comprehensive, all-weather perception of both static and dynamic objects, including irregular obstacles.
On August 25, the all-electric version of the AITO M8 was officially introduced. The BEV lineup comprises six variants, with prices mirroring the extended-range version at 359,800 yuan to 449,800 yuan, further expanding the model's appeal across powertrain preferences.
firefly
On April 19, firefly—NIO Inc's third automotive brand—officially put its first production model, also named firefly, onto the market, priced between 119,800 yuan and 125,800 yuan. The model marks NIO's latest move to broaden its reach into the compact urban EV segment.
The design centers on a distinctive "Trio" headlight signature, composed of three luminous rings arranged symmetrically at the front and rear. The number three carries symbolic meaning in Chinese culture, representing continuity and positive fortune. Capsule-shaped elements and energetic diagonal lines appear throughout the bodywork, reinforcing brand identity and giving the vehicle a highly recognizable visual character.
With dimensions of 4,003 mm in length and a 2,615 mm wheelbase, the firefly positions itself squarely in the compact EV category. Newly designed multi-spoke wheels add a refined, premium touch to its small-footprint proportions.
Inside, the cabin features a 13.2-inch 2.5K central display paired with a 6-inch digital instrument panel. A flat, open central passage connects the driver and front passenger seats, improving accessibility from both sides. A lowered dashboard enhances forward visibility, while the logo-embossed steering wheel uses antibacterial microfiber materials. A column-mounted shifter frees up additional front-row space.
Despite its compact size, practicality is a strong selling point. The firefly offers a class-leading 92-liter front trunk with layered storage and drainage functionality. Folding the rear seats creates a flat cargo area exceeding 1,253 liters, while the second-row seats can be folded individually without removing headrests. An additional hidden storage compartment of over 29 liters is tucked beneath the right rear seat.
Power comes from a single-motor setup producing 105 kW, with standard-range and long-range versions available. The standard model uses a 42.1 kWh battery pack, delivering up to 420 km of range. With a minimum turning radius of just 4.7 meters, the car is optimized for tight urban environments and also supports fully automated parking across multiple scenarios.
MAEXTRO S800
The MAEXTRO S800 officially went on sale on May 30, with prices ranging from 708,000 yuan to 1,018,000 yuan, positioning it firmly in China's ultra-luxury new energy sedan segment.
The exterior follows a design philosophy centered on harmony between nature, humanity and technology. A new "cosmic expanse" visual language is expressed through star-inspired headlights, panoramic-style taillights and retractable "stargazing" door handles. The sedan measures 5,480 mm in length with a 3,370 mm wheelbase, underscoring its flagship proportions.
Inside, the S800 debuts Huawei's immersive head-up display system "Lin Jing" and introduces an intelligent variable starlight roof. It is also the first sedan to offer dual zero-gravity seats in the rear cabin. On the driver assistance front, the model is the first to feature HUAWEI ADS 4.
Powertrain options include Huawei DriveOne 800V silicon-carbide motors, with outputs reaching 390 kW in dual-motor form and up to 635 kW with a tri-motor setup. The REEV version offers a combined driving range of 1,333 km, while the BEV variant delivers up to 702 km under CLTC conditions.
Xiaomi YU7
Xiaomi Auto officially put its first SUV, the YU7, onto the market on June 26, offering three variants priced from 253,500 yuan to 329,900 yuan. The company said firm orders surpassed 20,000 units within just three minutes of the launch, signaling strong early demand.
The YU7 carries forward Xiaomi EV's family design language, adopting a sporty crossover profile. The front end features the brand's signature "water-drop" headlights with a hollowed-out design, while the bumper styling closely mirrors that of the Xiaomi SU7 sedan. Buyers can choose from nine exterior colors, including Pearl White, Lava Orange, Titanium Metallic and Gemstone Green.
Inside, the SUV continues Xiaomi's minimalist interior approach, with four color themes available. The dashboard uses a fully soft-touch finish and retains a modular mounting point for personalized accessories. A 16.1-inch 3K central touchscreen dominates the cabin, complemented by two rear-seat extension screens for passengers.
All variants are powered by Xiaomi's HyperEngine V6s Plus motors. The dual-motor high-performance all-wheel-drive version delivers up to 690 horsepower and 508 kW of peak power, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.23 seconds with a top speed of 253 km/h. Battery options range from 96.3 kWh to 101.7 kWh, with CLTC-rated driving ranges spanning 760 km to 835 km depending on configuration.
XPENG G7
On July 3, XPENG officially unveiled the G7, positioning it as a next-generation AI-powered SUV designed for family use. The lineup consists of three variants—the 602 Long-range Max, 702 Extended-range Max, and 702 Extended-range Ultra—priced at 195,800 yuan, 205,800 yuan, and 225,800 yuan, respectively.
In terms of size, the G7 measures 4,892 mm in length, 1,925 mm in width and 1,655 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,890 mm, placing it firmly in the mainstream midsize SUV segment while prioritizing interior space for family-oriented use.
One of the G7's most notable departures from convention is the removal of a traditional instrument cluster. Instead, XPENG has partnered with Huawei to introduce the X-HUD head-up display, projecting driving information across an expansive 87-inch virtual display area. With a contrast ratio of 1800:1 and peak brightness reaching 12,000 nits, the system supports eight major driving scenarios, including lane changes, overtaking, obstacle avoidance, ramp navigation and roundabouts. An industry-first, full-scenario AR lane-level navigation overlays routes directly onto real-world roads, significantly enhancing situational awareness and ease of use.
At the top of the range, the G7 Ultra debuts with three Turing AI chips, marking the first time a single chip platform has been deployed simultaneously across AI vehicles, AI robots and flying vehicles. Purpose-built for large AI models, the system delivers up to 2,250 TOPS of effective computing power. XPENG also claims an industry-first "dual-flagship chip" architecture inside the cabin, adding a dedicated Turing AI chip for infotainment and interaction, pushing cockpit AI computing power beyond 800 TOPS.
Li i8
Li Auto officially launched the i8 onto the market on July 29, offering three trims—Pro, Max and Ultra—priced nationwide at 321,800 yuan, 349,800 yuan, and 369,800 yuan. The i8 represents a new design and technology direction for the brand, blending a more futuristic appearance with enhanced intelligent driving capabilities.
Visually, the i8 adopts a forward-looking design that emphasizes a high-tech aesthetic. A steeply raked windshield dominates the front profile, while a full-width LED daytime running light strip is positioned beneath the glass, creating a distinctive and unconventional front-end signature. A closed grille and downward-sloping hood further reduce aerodynamic drag.
Inside, the cabin maintains Li Auto's familiar minimalist and technology-focused style. Light-colored interior themes combined with wraparound ambient lighting create a warm, family-friendly atmosphere. Three interior color options are available, while the cockpit integrates a steering-wheel-mounted touch display, AR head-up display, and dual connected screens for the driver and front passenger.
All versions of the i8 come standard with LiDAR. Building on existing AEB and AES systems, Li Auto has expanded automatic emergency steering to handle more complex scenarios, including cut-ins by slower vehicles and aggressive lane intrusions. The company has also upgraded its advanced driver assistance architecture to a VLA framework, enhancing spatial understanding, reasoning, memory and interaction capabilities.
Power comes from a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, with the front and rear motors producing 150 kW and 250 kW, respectively. The i8 is also the first Li Auto model to feature a 5C ternary lithium battery, offered in 90.1 kWh and 97.8 kWh configurations, delivering CLTC-rated ranges of 670 km and 720 km.
ONVO L90
On July 31, ONVO, NIO's sub-brand, officially put its second production model, the L90, onto the market. The SUV is available in six configurations, with list prices ranging from 265,800 yuan to 299,800 yuan. A battery subscription option lowers the entry price to between 179,800 yuan and 213,800 yuan, reinforcing ONVO's value-oriented positioning.
Departing from current design trends, the L90 features split headlights and a closed front fascia instead of a continuous light bar. The lighting system integrates intelligent interaction in the upper units, while the lower lamps support adaptive driving beam (ADB) functionality, enabling features such as adaptive high beams, dynamic cornering lights, customizable light signatures and multi-scenario interactions.
Practicality is further enhanced by a large 240-liter front trunk, capable of accommodating multiple luggage combinations. The frunk is fully powered and supports ONVO's "smart knock" opening function, allowing users to open it by tapping the hood twice within a designated area. It can also be controlled via smartphone app, physical keys, Bluetooth keys, voice commands or the central touchscreen.
FANGCHENGBAO TAI 7
The FANGCHENGBAO TAI 7 officially went on sale on September 9, with four variants priced between 179,800 yuan and 219,800 yuan. The model continues the brand's "boxy" design language, emphasizing a rugged, off-road-inspired appearance.
A squared-off front profile, chunky bumpers and a roof-mounted LiDAR reinforce its tough SUV character.
At the rear, dual L-shaped taillights deliver strong visual recognition, while the externally mounted rear storage module—often referred to as a "backpack"—underscores its adventure-oriented design.
On top-spec four-wheel-drive models, buyers can opt for an onboard intelligent drone system, enabling dynamic takeoff and landing at speeds up to 25 km/h. The system supports obstacle avoidance, synchronized tracking and one-touch aerial video generation.
Measuring 4,999 mm in length, the TAI 7 offers an effective cabin length of 3,310 mm and a space utilization rate of 70.9%, well above segment averages. With rear seats folded, cargo capacity expands to 1,880 liters, maximizing usability through its squared-off body design.
SAIC Shangjie H5
On September 23, the Shangjie H5—the first model under the Shangjie brand co-developed by SAIC Motor and Huawei—officially entered the market. Positioned as a midsize SUV, the Shangjie H5 is offered in six variants, including REEV models priced from 159,800 yuan to 179,800 yuan and BEV versions ranging from 165,800 yuan to 199,800 yuan.
The SAIC Shangjie H5 measures 4,780 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width and 1,664 mm in height, with a 2,840 mm wheelbase.
The Max version is equipped with HUAWEI ADS 4, featuring a comprehensive sensor suite including a 192-line LiDAR, high-definition cameras, 4D millimeter-wave radars and ultrasonic sensors, supporting point-to-point assisted driving. The Pro version adopts a vision-based ADAS solution, enabling navigation-assisted driving on highways and urban expressways.
The REEV version offers a CLTC-rated battery-powered range of 235 km and a combined range of up to 1,360 km. BEV variants provide CLTC ranges from 525 km to 655 km, supported by battery packs of 64.6 kWh and 80 kWh.
Zeekr 9X
On September 29, 2025, ZEEKR officially launched the 9X, its flagship large SUV and the brand's first PHEV model, onto the market. Prices range from 465,900 yuan to 599,900 yuan.
Built on the SEA-S architecture, the 9X debuts Zeekr's super hybrid system, supporting a 900V high-voltage platform.
The exterior follows ZEEKR's signature design seen on the Zeekr 009, featuring a massive chrome grille measuring 120 cm wide and 70 cm high. Vertical-and-horizontal diamond matrix headlights and seven exterior color options reinforce its imposing flagship presence.
Inside, the cabin integrates a large central display powered by the 8295P chipset, wireless charging and physical shortcut buttons. Premium details include hand-finished Nordic wood trim and a 32-speaker Naim audio system delivering up to 3,868 watts of peak output.
Two ADAS packages are available, offering computing power of 700 TOPS or 1,400 TOPS via NVIDIA Thor-U chips, supported by a total of 43 perception sensors.
The powertrain combines a 2.0T engine with dual electric motors, producing up to 1,030 kW of system output and enabling 0–100 km/h acceleration in 3.1 seconds. A 70 kWh 6C hybrid battery supports up to 380 km of battery-powered range and ultra-fast charging from 20% to 80% in just nine minutes.
VOYAH Titan
VOYAH officially launched its flagship SUV, the Titan, on November 18. The lineup includes four trims, priced between 379,900 yuan and 509,900 yuan.
The Titan features Huawei's latest ADS 4 quad-LiDAR system, significantly enhancing perception and decision-making capabilities. Paired with HarmonySpace 5 and a voice-based large language model, the system delivers smoother human–machine interaction and stronger execution capabilities.
Interior highlights include a 13-liter smart hot-and-cold refrigerator, a 32-speaker panoramic sound system, a 21.4-inch ceiling-mounted entertainment screen and advanced noise isolation with active noise cancellation. AI-powered ergonomic seats use 66 sensors to deliver a 26-point massage experience.
As the first Huawei-affiliated SUV to feature an 800V intelligent hybrid system, the Titan offers a 350 km battery-powered range and over 1,400 km combined range, with 5C fast charging enabling a 20–80% recharge in just 12 minutes. Dual motors deliver 380 kW, accelerating the vehicle from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds.
The Titan also becomes the first Chinese-brand vehicle equipped with a three-chamber air suspension system and rear-wheel steering for parking. Despite exceeding 5.2 meters in length, it achieves a turning radius of just 5.4 meters, balancing flagship stability with urban maneuverability.
