It marks a major milestone for the model in China's highly competitive entry-level BEV market.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 23, Geely Automobile announced that cumulative deliveries of its A0-segment all-electric city car, the Xingyuan, have surpassed 500,000 units, marking a major milestone for the model in China's highly competitive entry-level BEV market.

The Xingyuan initially hit the market on October 9, 2024, with the updated 2026 model year introduced on October 10 this year. At launch, the model carried a guide price ranging from 68,800 yuan to 98,800 yuan, positioning it squarely in the affordable urban mobility segment.

Built on Geely's GEA architecture, the Xingyuan measures 4,135 mm in length, 1,805 mm in width and 1,570 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,650 mm. Despite its compact footprint, the model offers a relatively generous cargo layout, including a 375-liter rear trunk and a 70-liter front trunk.

In terms of design, the 2026 Xingyuan largely carries over the styling of its predecessor. The closed-off front grille, now a common EV design cue, is paired with smooth, rounded front-end lines and Geely's "Yingyu" headlamp design. Combined with lively exterior color options, the overall look is modern and approachable. At the rear, rounded triangular taillights echo the front lighting signature and deliver strong visual recognition when illuminated.

From the side, the Xingyuan features a distinctive floating roof design, complemented by low-drag wheels and semi-hidden door handles to help improve aerodynamic efficiency. Buyers can choose from two-tone body finishes and multiple wheel designs to suit different tastes.

Inside, the 2026 model embraces a minimalist layout, with most vehicle functions integrated into the central touchscreen. A two-spoke steering wheel and ambient lighting across the passenger-side dashboard contribute to a distinctly futuristic atmosphere. The feature list includes an upgraded Amap navigation system, seamless smartphone connectivity, dual-zone voice interaction, a soft-light vanity mirror and a 50W air-cooled wireless charging pad.

On the powertrain front, the Xingyuan adopts a rear-mounted single-motor layout under the GEA new energy vehicle platform, offering output options of 58 kW and 85 kW. It comes standard with CATL battery cells and a liquid-cooled thermal management system, delivering CLTC-rated driving ranges of 310 km and 410 km, respectively.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
