[SMM Tungsten Express] Almonty Industries has updated the plan for its Sangdong tungsten mine in South Korea. According to its October 2025 announcement, the concentrator plant commissioning is postponed from July 2025 to 2026, with commercial production targeted for H1 2026. The mine has commenced active mining with the first ore delivered. Designed to establish a China-independent critical tungsten supply chain, the project aims to provide long-term security for the defense, semiconductor, and other high-tech sectors of the U.S. and its allies, countering China's current >80% supply dominance.
