【Latest Progress on Wanhua Chemical's Annual 120,000-ton Lithium Iron Phosphate Expansion Project】 Upon completion of the expansion, the lithium iron phosphate production capacity will increase from 50,000 tons/year to 120,000 tons/year. This includes an additional 30,000 tons/year via the iron-based method and 40,000 tons/year via the ammonium-based method for producing lithium iron phosphate, along with a supporting expansion of a 64,000 tons/year ammonium sulfate by-product facility. A new workshop for the iron-based method equipment will be constructed, while the ammonium-based method equipment will be installed within an existing workshop, adding a total construction area of 2,461.51 square meters. The power system and water supply/drainage system will rely on existing facilities.

【Yangquan City Launches 120,000-ton Waste New Energy Power Battery Comprehensive Utilization Project】 On December 18th, the Yangquan City Suburban District People's Government officially released the "Second Public Notice for the Environmental Impact Assessment of the Annual Processing of 120,000 Tons of Waste New Energy Power Battery Comprehensive Utilization Project" by an environmental technology company in Yangquan. According to the announcement, the project is located in the Weibo Park of the Modern Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Park within Yangquan High-tech Industrial Development Zone, with a total construction area of 136,000 square meters.

【Latest Update on Fenyang City's Annual 30,000-ton Waste Power Battery Processing Project】 On December 5th, the second public notice for the environmental impact assessment of the waste power battery comprehensive utilization project by a resource regeneration company in Shanxi has been completed. This marks a crucial step forward for this project, which has a total investment of 300 million yuan and an annual processing scale of 30,000 tons, on its path to compliant construction. According to the announcement, the project is located in Fenyang City, Lüliang City, Shanxi Province.

【Jining, Shandong Lithium Battery Recycling Project Announced】 Recently, information on a project planning website indicates that a new materials technology company is preparing to enter the lithium battery recycling industry with its "Annual Processing of 50,000 Tons of Waste Battery Comprehensive Recycling and Utilization Project". It is reported that the project has a total investment exceeding 1 billion yuan, covers an area of 150 mu (approximately 100,000 square meters), with a total construction area of 65,000 square meters. It primarily involves the new construction of sorting workshops, electrolysis workshops, dismantling workshops, etc.

【Wuhan, Hubei Commissions 60,000-ton Dry-process LFP Battery Recycling Project】 Recently, a 60,000-ton dry-process lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery recycling project, which received special investment from the Yangtze River New Area Industrial Fund, was officially launched and put into operation in the Yangtze River New Area. The first phase of this project involves a planned total investment of 500 million yuan. Upon reaching full capacity, it is expected to generate an annual output value of approximately 300 million yuan, offering dual value in both economic and ecological benefits.

According to the latest data from the Passenger Car Association, in December 2025, producers with new energy wholesale sales exceeding 10,000 units accounted for 93% of the total wholesale sales of passenger NEVs that month. Based on preliminary January data, these producers achieved sales of 830,000 units in January. As most producers have already locked in their major sales figures, by applying the structural proportion from the previous month to the current month's data, the estimated wholesale sales of passenger NEVs nationwide in January were 900,000 units. According to comprehensive preliminary monthly association data: the estimated wholesale sales of NEVs by national passenger car producers in January 2026 were 900,000 units, up 1% YoY.
