Shandong Launches 100,000-Ton Annual Waste Lithium Battery Recycling Project

Published: Dec 23, 2025 17:17
【Annual Processing of 100,000 Tons of Waste Lithium Battery Comprehensive Utilization Project Launches in Shandong】 With an investment of 650 million yuan, the project's construction includes a crushing and sorting system, an oxygen-free pyrolysis system, a metal recycling and reuse system, an environmental protection system, a technology center, and other supporting auxiliary facilities. Upon reaching full capacity, the project will be able to recycle and process 100,000 tons of waste lithium batteries annually, including 60,000 tons of lithium iron phosphate single cells and 40,000 tons of ternary lithium single cells. It will employ advanced domestic waste lithium battery recycling and processing technology. After pre-treatment through crushing and sorting, the scrapped waste lithium batteries will enable the cyclic reuse of materials such as lithium, cobalt, nickel, and manganese. The waste lithium batteries processed are all single cells, excluding cascade utilization processes, and do not involve hazardous waste disposal activities.
