Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Joyson Electronics has announced a new strategic partnership between its intelligent mobility subsidiary JOYNEXT and autonomous driving technology company Senior Auto, as the two sides move to jointly accelerate the development and commercialization of Level 4 smart driving solutions for specific operating scenarios.
According to a press release JOYNEXT issued last Friday via its WeChat account, the collaboration will combine their respective strengths across software, hardware, and system integration, with a particular focus on advanced smart driving architectures and embodied intelligence domain controllers.
Under the agreement, JOYNEXT and Senior Auto plan to deepen technical collaboration and explore real-world deployment paths, targeting applications where high-level autonomous driving can be implemented in a controlled and commercially viable manner. The partnership reflects a shared ambition to bridge the gap between advanced autonomous technologies and scalable industry use cases.
A key outcome of the cooperation is already in operation. The two companies have jointly delivered a smart port digital management platform built around the integration of V2X connectivity, Level 4 autonomous driving, and intelligent cloud-based dispatching, which has been deployed at Ningbo Port and is now running steadily in live operations.
By combining vehicle-to-everything coordination, low-latency 5G communications, optimized autonomous driving algorithms, and enhanced domain controller performance for commercial vehicles, the solution addresses long-standing challenges such as mixed-traffic operations and complex intersection scheduling in port environments. According to project data, the system has improved overall vehicle dispatch efficiency by around 15 percent while increasing route planning accuracy by approximately 10%, delivering measurable gains in operational responsiveness and precision.
The successful deployment serves as a practical validation of the technological compatibility and maturity of both partners' solutions. It also provides a replicable reference model for extending high-level intelligent assisted driving technologies into additional industrial and logistics scenarios beyond ports.
Looking ahead, JOYNEXT and Senior Auto are expected to broaden the scope of their collaboration, scaling up the application of Level 4 driver's assistance technologies across more use cases and contributing to the development of more efficient, highly coordinated logistics networks. The partners also plan to jointly advance embodied intelligence domain controller development, positioning the collaboration as a long-term driver for innovation across the intelligent mobility and automation sectors.
