Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 18, 2025, BYD and Fosun signed a long-term global strategic cooperation memorandum in Taicang, Jiangsu province. The partnership brings together BYD's strengths in new energy mobility and intelligent manufacturing with Fosun's global footprint in tourism, leisure, and consumer ecosystems, aiming to create an integrated model that combines transportation with vacation and lifestyle experiences.

Under the agreement, the two groups will use the concept of "mobility plus vacation" as a starting point to deepen collaboration in ecosystem connectivity, product innovation, and global expansion. Leveraging Fosun Tourism Group's portfolio of more than 70 premium resort destinations across over 40 countries and regions, the partners plan to develop a shared benefits program targeting BYD's global base of more than 15 million vehicle owners and Fosun's approximately 20 million loyalty program members worldwide. The initiative is designed to interlink their respective user ecosystems on a global scale.

Fosun's resort destinations will progressively introduce flagship models from BYD's full brand lineup, spanning the Dynasty and Ocean series, the personalized FANGCHENGBAO brand, premium marque DENZA, and ultra-high-end YANGWANG vehicles. Drawing on local natural landscapes and cultural resources, the two sides will jointly design customized, high-end travel routes that extend visitors' on-the-ground exploration. By integrating premium mobility with localized discovery, the partnership aims to create more immersive and diversified vacation experiences, while also supporting both companies' international expansion and overseas operations.

The alliance marks a strategic convergence for both groups in global operations and user ecosystem development. BYD noted that the partnership reflects a shared ambition between two China-rooted yet globally oriented industry leaders. Looking ahead, the companies plan to deepen resource sharing and operational synergy worldwide, promoting closer integration between sustainable mobility and high-quality lifestyle experiences, with the goal of delivering more accessible and sustainable benefits to users around the globe.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
