The duo formalizes a plan to deepen cooperation in automotive electronics.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 18, Shanghai Baolong Automotive Corporation ("Baolong") signed a memorandum of understanding in Shanghai with Infineon Technologies (China) Co., Ltd., formalizing a plan to deepen cooperation in automotive electronics.

According to a post on Baolong's WeChat account, the two companies said the partnership will focus on closer technology collaboration and resource integration, with the goal of developing safer, smarter, and more competitive solutions for intelligent vehicles, as the industry accelerates toward electrification, intelligence, and connectivity.

Infineon is widely recognized as a global leader in automotive semiconductors, offering a broad portfolio and system-level solutions that underpin innovation across the global auto industry. Baolong, meanwhile, is a leading Chinese listed company in intelligent automotive technologies, with a strong focus on advanced driver assistance sensing and intelligent chassis control systems, supported by extensive experience in component development, manufacturing, and commercialization.

The two companies are building on a long-standing working relationship. By combining Infineon's strengths in semiconductor innovation and system solutions with Baolong's forward-looking strategy and automotive expertise, the partners have already achieved tangible results in areas such as tire pressure monitoring systems, wheel speed sensors, and suspension control. These earlier collaborations laid the groundwork for broader industrial adoption and provided a foundation of mutual trust for this expanded agreement.

Baolong's chairman Zhang Zuqiu noted that Infineon's leadership in automotive chips and system solutions makes it a natural partner as Baolong advances its strategy in intelligent and lightweight vehicle systems. He emphasized that closer integration of Infineon's technologies with Baolong's component development and manufacturing capabilities is expected to drive breakthroughs in areas such as advanced driver assistance and intelligent chassis systems, supporting the industry's broader shift toward smarter vehicles.

Cao Yanfei, Infineon's head of automotive business in Greater China described Baolong as a strong representative of China's intelligent automotive sector, citing its technical depth and market presence in driver assistance sensing and chassis control. He said the new agreement will allow both sides to expand cooperation across local OEM platforms, next-generation technologies, and radar system applications, positioning them to capture opportunities created by ongoing transformation in the automotive industry.

Looking ahead, the partnership will concentrate on core areas of vehicle safety and intelligence, accelerating both technology iteration and commercialization in advanced driver assistance and intelligent chassis systems. By combining Baolong's localized R&D and global manufacturing and service network with Infineon's system-level expertise, the two companies aim to pursue complementary strengths and jointly expand market opportunities, creating a more resilient and competitive ecosystem for next-generation vehicles.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
