Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 18, Momenta announced it had recently forged a strategic partnership with Grab, Southeast Asia's leading mobility and lifestyle services platform, which also includes a strategic investment from Grab.

The two companies plan to work closely to advance the deployment of autonomous driving technologies across Southeast Asia, with a particular focus on dense urban areas characterized by heavy traffic and complex road conditions. Their shared objective is to accelerate the delivery of safe and dependable autonomous mobility services, supporting the region's long-term transformation of urban transportation.

Momenta's development strategy centers on what it describes as a "single flywheel, two legs" approach, using data-driven iteration to advance both L2 advanced driver assistance systems and L4 autonomous driving in parallel. On one front, the company works closely with global automakers such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW, integrating advanced driver assistance solutions—built on its proprietary large-scale models—into mass-produced vehicles. In parallel, Momenta is accelerating the development of its Robotaxi technology and moving steadily toward the next phase of commercial fleet operations.

Unlike many conventional Robotaxi models, Momenta builds its autonomous ride-hailing services on production vehicles rather than bespoke platforms. Both its L2 and L4 systems share a common software architecture and sensor configuration, allowing L4 autonomous capabilities to be embedded directly into mass-produced cars. This integrated approach eliminates the need for costly post-production modifications, significantly reducing operating costs and creating a more scalable pathway toward widespread adoption of autonomous mobility services.

Against this strategic backdrop, the partnership with Grab will serve as a testing ground for introducing Momenta's autonomous driving technologies into Southeast Asian markets, with safety positioned as a central pillar of the collaboration. The alliance provides both companies with a structured framework to explore practical and scalable pathways for deploying autonomous driving services across the region.

Momenta has also been expanding its global footprint beyond Southeast Asia. In May this year, the company entered into a strategic partnership with Uber, one of the world's largest mobility platforms, to jointly explore the integration of advanced autonomous driving technologies into future shared mobility networks. The two sides plan to officially launch operations in Munich, Germany, in 2026, underscoring Momenta's broader ambitions in the global autonomous driving race.

[Solid-State Battery: EcoPro BM Forms All-Solid-State Battery Team Covering the Full "Raw Material-Material-Battery Cell" Chain, Targeting Commercialization by 2027] On August 26, 2026, EcoPro BM held a kick-off meeting in Gyeonggi Province, officially forming an "all-solid-state battery team" covering the full "raw material-material-battery cell" chain. The project is led by South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and EcoPro BM was selected in early August, along with four other enterprises, as a third-phase "super subcontractor" company. Team participants include the Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI), the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), Hanyang University, and others. EcoPro BM plans to develop sulphide-based solid electrolytes based on high-purity lithium sulphide, with the goal of commercializing sulphide-based all-solid-state batteries by 2027.
