Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 17, Li Auto said it had reached a significant milestone in its international operations with the launch of its products in Egypt, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. Following its earlier move into Uzbekistan, the company has now established sales channels and introduced vehicles in three additional markets within a short period, effectively forming a strategic footprint that spans Central Asia, the Caucasus and Africa. The expansion signals that Li Auto's globalization strategy has moved beyond planning into concrete execution.

Alongside its market entry, Li Auto has rolled out three core vehicle models—the Li L9, Li L7 and Li L6—aimed at addressing demand in the local premium vehicle segment. To ensure a consistent ownership experience overseas, the company will offer official warranty coverage, professional after-sales support and ongoing over-the-air software updates.

Among the three new markets, Egypt carries particular strategic weight as it represents Li Auto's first entry into the Middle East and Africa. Positioned as a bridge between Asia and Africa, Egypt offers geographic advantages that make it a potential hub for broader expansion across the African continent. With a population exceeding 110 million and one of the fastest-growing economies in North Africa, the country is seeing a rapid rise in younger consumers and strong demand for mid- to high-end vehicles. These dynamics align closely with Li Auto's long-term focus on emerging markets and are expected to provide significant growth opportunities.

In terms of channel development, Li Auto has moved at a rapid pace, opening retail centers in three cities across two countries within just seven days. In early December, new outlets began operations in Baku, Azerbaijan, as well as Almaty and Astana in Kazakhstan, underscoring the speed of its regional rollout.

Li Auto's global expansion strategy combines authorized dealerships, general distributor partnerships and direct subsidiary operations, allowing it to adapt flexibly to the unique conditions of different markets. To date, the company has formed close partnerships with influential local automotive sales groups in four overseas countries. By leveraging partners' established distribution networks, localized operating expertise and service capabilities, Li Auto has been able to quickly build standardized, high-quality sales and after-sales systems, aiming to deliver a consistent premium experience to customers worldwide.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
