Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 17, CATL and VOYAH signed a 10-year agreement in Ningde, Fujian province, formalizing a deeper and longer-term strategic partnership, according to a post on CATL's WeChat account.

The collaboration will span advanced technology adoption, battery supply, joint brand development and coordinated expansion in global markets, with the shared goal of delivering safer, more efficient electric vehicles with extended driving range. The move underscores both companies' ambitions to accelerate the new energy vehicle sector toward higher-end positioning, smarter technologies and broader international reach.

The renewed partnership is structured around three core areas designed to translate strategic intent into concrete outcomes.

On the technology front, CATL will give VOYAH priority access to its latest battery innovations, accelerating the large-scale deployment of its flagship battery brands across VOYAH models. Beyond batteries, the two companies plan to jointly explore emerging technologies such as battery swapping, integrated intelligent chassis systems, next-generation platform architectures and vehicle-to-grid solutions. By strengthening cooperation around battery data, they aim to build an end-to-end management ecosystem covering R&D, manufacturing and operations, delivering tangible improvements in range, charging convenience and safety.

From a supply perspective, the partners will work toward more localized and coordinated production capacity, enhancing supply chain resilience and responsiveness. This approach is intended to mitigate external risks and ensure VOYAH has stable and reliable battery supplies as it scales up production and intensifies competition in the market.

Commercially, CATL and VOYAH will align their efforts on brand innovation and overseas expansion, seeking to strengthen their presence and competitiveness in the global premium new energy vehicle segment. The collaboration is positioned to deliver mutual gains not only at the product level, but also in long-term brand value.

The two companies have worked closely since VOYAH delivered its first mass-produced model in 2021, establishing a tight partnership in battery supply and joint development. A strategic agreement signed in 2023 further advanced cooperation in ultra-fast charging, battery safety and data-driven applications. Today, CATL serves as the core battery supplier across VOYAH's entire lineup. The newly signed 10-year agreement elevates this relationship to a new level, laying a solid foundation for VOYAH to build long-term competitiveness anchored in safety, advanced technology and sustainable growth.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
