The collaboration brings together Black Sesame Technologies' chip expertise and DeepRoute.ai's software capabilities to jointly advance next-generation intelligent-driving solutions.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Black Sesame Technologies said on December 12 that it has entered into a strategic partnership with DeepRoute.ai, forming both business and capital ties aimed at accelerating the development of advanced driver-assistance systems. The collaboration brings together Black Sesame Technologies' chip expertise and DeepRoute.ai's software capabilities to jointly advance next-generation intelligent-driving solutions.

Under the agreement, Black Sesame Technologies will supply its next-generation automotive-grade computing platforms along with a complete development toolchain. DeepRoute.ai will port and optimize its higher-level ADAS algorithms on top of these chips, creating an integrated "chip-plus-software" stack designed for large-scale commercial deployment.

The two companies also plan to work closely with major automakers and supply-chain partners to accelerate mass production of L2+ and L3 driver-assistance systems. Beyond traditional passenger vehicles, they will explore additional opportunities in emerging segments such as Robotaxis.

Industry observers view the tie-up as a strategic move for both companies as competition in China's intelligent-driving sector shifts toward deeper integration and cost-optimized solutions.

Black Sesame Technologies has built its reputation around automotive-grade computing chips, including its Huashan family for driver assistance and the Wudang line for cross-domain processing. Powered by in-house IP, full-stack algorithms and supporting software, the company has developed a comprehensive technology ecosystem. Its upcoming Huashan A2000, slated for launch in 2025 and mass production in 2026, is designed to support next-generation AI models with significantly greater performance and efficiency, meeting the heavy computational demands of complex driving environments.

DeepRoute.ai, meanwhile, has secured mass-production partnerships with multiple automakers, contributing to the launch of more than a dozen models with combined driver-assistance features. To date, the company has delivered 200,000 vehicles equipped with its urban NOA system. In October 2025, it captured nearly 40% of the third-party supplier share in the urban NOA segment.

As China's ADAS market moves from a pure performance race to one centered on cost-effectiveness, integrated hardware-software platforms are becoming increasingly critical. The alliance between Black Sesame Technologies and DeepRoute.ai is expected to accelerate adoption among top-tier automakers and intensify pressure on suppliers that rely heavily on outsourced chips.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
