Recently, the provincial-level scientific research project "Research and Application of Improving the Desulfurization Capacity of Bauxite Roasting," implemented by State Power Investment Corporation Aluminum & Electricity Zunyi Company, successfully passed the acceptance review by the Guizhou Provincial Department of Science and Technology and obtained the project acceptance certificate. This technological breakthrough not only provides key technical support for the sustainable development of China's aluminum industry but also has significant strategic importance for ensuring national energy security and promoting the high-quality development of the non-ferrous metals industry. The project is the first to adopt the "suspension roasting desulfurization" process in industrial production, effectively solving the common industry problem of the difficulty in economically and efficiently utilizing high-sulfur bauxite, improving desulfurization efficiency and resource utilization, providing a reliable technical path for the large-scale industrial application of high-sulfur bauxite, greatly alleviating the shortage of low-sulfur bauxite resources in China, breaking the long-term dependence on imported high-grade bauxite, and further enhancing the stability and security of the domestic aluminum resource supply chain.
