Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 9, Huawei-backed Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance ("HIMA") took to a nationally broadcast livestream to unveil the LUXEED V9, its first MPV model. Richard Yu, Huawei's Executive Director and head of its consumer business, introduced the vehicle as the group's inaugural "9-series" flagship MPVmarking a significant expansion of the brand's product portfolio and signaling Huawei's ambitions in the premium multi-purpose vehicle segment.

Earlier disclosures show that the LUXEED V9 continues the family design cues seen across the HIMA lineup, especially its signature front fascia. Built on Huawei's 800-V silicon-carbide DriveONE platform, the MPV integrates a 192-line LiDAR unit and the company's proprietary Giant Whale battery system. Inside, the model is set to feature amenities typically reserved for high-end SUVssuch as an electrically assisted front trunk, zero-gravity seats for both driver and passenger, and dual sliding storage drawers for rear occupants.

Mr. Yu elaborated on the naming strategy, noting that "V" stands for "Victory," while "9" signals the highest level of technological sophistication within the Harmony series. He described the V9 as a milestone for the LUXEED brand's "2.0 era," intended to fill a crucial gap in the lineup and challenge long-established assumptions about what constitutes a luxury MPV in China.

The LUXEED brand currently sells two "7-series" vehiclesthe S7 sedan and R7 coupe-style SUV. The arrival of the V9 completes a more balanced lineup spanning sedans, SUVs, and now MPVs. Spy videos circulating online have already revealed that the V9 shares the same front-end language as the S7 and R7. Market launch is expected next year, setting the stage for the brand's next phase of growth.

On the same day in Shanghai, HIMA's brandsincluding AITO, LUXEED, STELATO, MAEXTRO, and SAIC Shangjieannounced plans to deepen strategic collaboration under the banner of "shared standards and co-developed resources." The initiative aims to strengthen alignment across the Harmony mobility ecosystem and accelerate the alliance's development as a unified smart-vehicle platform.
