Anchoring to National Strategies, the Guangzhou Nano Innovation Institute Successfully Hosts the National Nanotechnology Competition Finals, Looking Forward to Next Year's Gathering at the Sci-Tech Innovation Feast!

The National Finals of the 14th China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Nanotechnology Innovation Professional Contest concluded successfully on December 5 at the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area National Nanotechnology Innovation Institute (referred to as "Gianan Yuan") in Guangdong. As a national-level industry event in the field of nanotechnology, this competition brought together 30 high-quality enterprises selected from the preliminary rounds nationwide. After intense competition, Guangzhou Insight Technology Co., Ltd. won the first prize in the growth enterprise category, while Pudo Regenerative Medical Biotechnology (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. took the first prize in the startup category.

Embarking on a New Journey, Exploring the Vast Universe of Nanotechnology

The competition was organized by the Torch High Technology Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, with support from the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province. It was hosted by Gianan Yuan, the National Nanomanufacturing Industry Innovation Center, and the Yangtze River Delta Center of the Torch Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

Since its launch, the competition has attracted numerous enterprises from across the country to register and participate, thanks to its unique professional focus and industry influence. Through rigorous evaluation and fierce competition in the preliminary rounds, 30 outstanding enterprises stood out and advanced to the national finals.

At the opening ceremony, Ren Hongxuan, Director of the Achievement Transformation Office of the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, delivered a speech. He mentioned that the global nanotechnology industry's output value has approached $1.5 trillion, with nanotechnology serving as the foundation for technologies such as AI, chips, and biomedicine. This year's competition brought together 30 outstanding teams to compete on the same stage, showcasing the industrialisation power of nanotechnology. Nanotechnology is igniting the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and the Huangpu District of Guangzhou Development District has become a hub for the transformation of nanotechnology achievements and innovation and entrepreneurship in China. He wished the competition a complete success and expressed hope that more innovative forces would take root and grow here.

Wu Yun, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Innovation Bureau of Guangzhou Development District and the Science and Technology Bureau of Huangpu District, Guangzhou, emphasized that Huangpu District places great importance on the development of the nanotechnology industry. To this end, Huangpu District has established a nanotechnology industry support system and looks forward to more outstanding teams coming to and settling in Huangpu.

Qin Wei, Executive Dean of Gianan Yuan, pointed out that Gianan Yuan has become a key platform for the transformation of nanotechnology achievements. He stressed that nanotechnology is a core interdisciplinary field driving the development of new quality productive forces and expressed hope that the competition would promote technological industrialisation and help cultivate more high-growth enterprises.

Zhao Qian, Deputy Dean of Gianan Yuan, reported on the institute's construction achievements and highlighted its advantages in technology R&D, platform support, and achievement transformation. She noted that Gianan Yuan effectively connects university achievements with industry needs and is becoming a vital force in driving the transformation of nanotechnology achievements and cultivating new quality productive forces.

Inspiration Flourishes, Co-Creating an Innovative Future

At the event site, a series of high-quality thematic trainings and report releases took place. Industry gurus and enterprise leaders gathered together, presenting a feast of wisdom to the audience. Tong Jun, a partner at Tianda Gonghe Law Firm, delivered a comprehensive analysis on "Legal Practices for the Capitalization of Nanotechnology Enterprises," outlining the equity strategies and legal compliance key points from start-up to listing, providing guidance for the capitalization path of participating enterprises. Partner & Deputy General Manager Sun Mohan shared on the theme of "The Full Picture of Entrepreneurship," dissecting the core logic of entrepreneurship from dimensions such as business model construction and market expansion strategies. Chief Investment Expert and Cognitive Course Coach Ma Zhaobin focused on "How to Build a Team Based on Cognitive Logic," offering a new perspective on the construction of enterprise talent echelons.

Competing on the Stage, Showcasing Innovative Strengths

The 30 enterprises advancing to the national finals covered multiple emerging industry sectors including nanomaterials, biomedicine, and intelligent manufacturing, all being pioneers in their respective niche fields. The competition was divided into two major categories based on the development stage of the enterprises: the Start-Up Group and the Growth Group. Through a format of "roadshow presentations + on-site Q&A," a comprehensive and intense innovation showdown unfolded.

The judging panel for this competition brought together a diverse array of strengths, including technical experts, industry leaders, and venture capitalists. They conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the participating projects, focusing on core dimensions such as technological innovation, feasibility of the business model, market potential, team's overall strength, and financial health. Both the hard power of technology and the potential for market implementation were rigorously assessed.

On the afternoon of December 5th, the closing ceremony and award presentation of the finals took place as scheduled, with the organizing committee presenting several awards.

In the Growth Enterprise category, Guangzhou Insight Technology Co., Ltd. won the first prize, Shandong Leize Biotechnology Co., Ltd. won the second prize, and Jiyuan Xinghan New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. won the third prize. Jiyuan Hongxin Rubber Composite Materials Technology Co., Ltd., Gewu Perception (Shenzhen) Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing Zhongke Nantong Electronics Technology Co., Ltd., and Guangdong Shengpeng Technology Co., Ltd. respectively won the Industry Integration Contribution Award, Most Investable Value Award, Pioneer of Achievements Transformation Award, and Technological Innovation Award.

In the Start-Up Enterprise category, Pudao Regenerative Medical Biotechnology (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. won the first prize, Shenzhen Micro-Object Scientific Instruments Co., Ltd. won the second prize, and Shenzhen Xin Kai Carbon Energy Technology Co., Ltd. won the third prize. Beijing Junqing Zhouyuan Technology Co., Ltd., Femtosecond Chip Creation (Chengdu) Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd., Quanzhou Xincheshu Technology Co., Ltd., and Guangzhou Shengli New Materials Co., Ltd. respectively won the Industry Integration Contribution Award, Most Investable Value Award, Pioneer of Achievements Transformation Award, and Technological Innovation Award.

As a national-level platform for innovation and entrepreneurship competitions, the China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Nanotechnology Innovation Professional Sub-competition has been dedicated to the field of nanotechnology for ten years, successfully cultivating a group of enterprises with core competitiveness and injecting strong momentum into the industry's development.

Since the nanotechnology sub-competition was established in Guangzhou Huangpu in 2020 and upgraded to a national competition in 2021, the Guangdong Academy of Nanoscience has hosted this event for several consecutive years, attracting over 1,000 enterprises from more than 30 provinces and cities across China. Now, the conclusion of the 14th competition is not an end but a new starting point for the continued convergence of nanotechnology innovation forces. The Guangdong Academy of Nanoscience will continue to position itself as a national-level platform for the transformation of nanotechnology achievements, deepening the construction of the nanotechnology industry innovation ecosystem.
