【SMM Aluminium Flash News】Constellium and Infracell collaborate, investment in finishing lines proves worthwhile

Constellium announces the start-up of aluminium finishing lines at its Singen plant in Germany. This groundbreaking achievement in partnership with Lotte Infracell. The production of cutting-edge lines in a safe and sustainable environment is the result of the investment of EUR 30 million, announced in 2024. The project aims to supply high-quality aluminium foil stock in Europe for battery applications. Constellium executed it in collaboration with Lotte Infracell, a subsidiary of Lotte Aluminium. The equipment was installed after the construction of the new building in April 2025. The official production started when the first coil was successfully produced by the joint effort of the partnership in November 2025. The budget and duration were both within limit and the operations were carried out in a safe environment. The new setup includes the latest revolutionary edge trimming and packing lines. The production flow is optimised with logistics and buffer areas. The line can process dimensions up to 2,000 mm widths and 1.3 mm thicknesses. It exhibits high productivity in working for various market segments of aluminium coils. The new solar power system can approximately generate 760,000 kWh of renewable energy per year. Moreover, keeping in mind the safety protocols, the building has been provided with a fire protection wall that separates it from other facilities as well as a sprinkler system that covers production and truck loading zones.
