Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Dongfeng Nissan put the N6 model onto the market on December 1, introducing the plug-in hybrid crossover with five trim levels and an aggressive price band that starts at 99,900 yuan and tops out at 129,900 yuan.
Early buyers can secure the model for as low as 91,900 yuan under a limited-time incentive program, underscoring the brand's intention to compete head-on in China's increasingly value-driven PHEV segment.
The N6 is the first PHEV model built on Dongfeng Nissan's Tianyan architecture, and the model is engineered squarely around efficiency and real-world range. Nissan is positioning the car with what it calls the "four twos" PHEV benchmark: low fuel consumption when the battery is depleted, a large battery pack delivering up to 180 km of battery-powered driving, fast mid-range charging in roughly 20 minutes, and an estimated annual energy cost of under 2,000 yuan for typical users.
On the tech front, the N6 arrives with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8775 chipset powering a 15.6-inch 2.5K display and the latest NISSAN OS interface. The company also partnered with AR specialist Rokid to develop mass-produced automotive smart glasses capable of projecting navigation guidance into the user's field of view. Its voice assistant, "Xiao Ni," blends iFlytek and DeepSeek large-model capabilities, offering multi-zone voice pickup and dialect recognition—features tailored specifically for the Chinese market.
For assisted driving, the N6 incorporates a customized end-to-end system co-developed with Momenta. The solution supports highway, urban and parking scenarios, and includes memory-route navigation and the ability to maneuver into tight parking spaces—capabilities normally reserved for higher-end vehicles.
According to Liu Xinyu, general manager of Dongfeng Nissan Sales Company, the N6 was conceived as a model built with "China's resources, China's speed and China's technology" to appeal directly to mainstream family buyers. Together with the all-electric N7 and a HarmonySpace-equipped Teana, the newcomer forms a three-powertrain lineup that spans PHEV, BEV and traditional combustion offerings. The company says the N6 marks a new stage in its localization strategy, reflecting a deeper fusion between global manufacturing standards and China-specific product development—and positioning Dongfeng Nissan as a more competitive force among the new-generation joint-venture brands.
